Relax with Your Partner Before the Big Day
Waiting to get married can be stressful for many reasons: worrying about the guest list, food, clothes, the ceremony itself, whether the first dance will go according to plan… It’s completely understandable if you feel more overwhelmed than excited, therefore it’s advised to take some time and relax with your partner, just the two of you, without nosy family members or friends. This can be useful if you’re not planning an immediate honeymoon due to work obligations or various other reasons. Finding some time to do something fun or simply relax can help you prepare for the wedding and everything else that’s coming ahead.
Here are six best ways to spend time with the one you love before getting married:
1. Go to a spa

In case you need some time to forget all your worries and get pampered, then spa is the perfect choice for both of you. You can enjoy massages or thermal baths, and if you need extra beauty treatment before the wedding, you can also get a facial, manicure or pedicure. Aside from these, you can enjoy mud body wraps, aromatherapy or lying in a spa bath. It is believed that relaxing in hot water can help you relax which can result in better sleep quality. A married-couple-to-be can experience a lot of anxiety prior to their wedding day, therefore it’s important to take some time and relax. If you and your partner feel that wedding preparations are too stressful to handle, going to a spa can definitely help you feel better and less anxious.
2. Have a romantic dinner

It might sound cheesy, but trying to organize the wedding can sometimes make you forget why you’ve fallen for each other, and going on a candle-lit dinner can help you remember that. Since weddings tend to be expensive, you don’t need to spend a lot on a meal, but rather find a nice, cosy place where you can talk and enjoy some great food that you both like. Also, it’s important to really dedicate time to one another, which means no phones, unless there’s a critical emergency. All those work emails or texts can wait until you leave the restaurant or even better, until the next morning. Use the time at dinner to laugh, tell jokes, playfully steal food from each other’s plate and talk about plans for the future.
3. Try something new

If previous suggestions sound to ordinary, you can always try something different, such as going ballroom dancing, doing yoga or camping. Even better, you can try a sport you haven’t tried before, such as golf. Maybe it seems boring, but you can have tremendous fun while trying to learn how to navigate the golf court and play the game. In case you’re unfamiliar where to start, you can go to a Golf Club, or visit their website where you can find a lot of useful articles and other important information. Besides golf, you can play other sports such as running, cycling or tennis.
4. Have a romantic picnic

This one is a fun way to spend some quality time together without being disturbed.ÿ Before you decide to pack your basket (or a backpack), just make sure that the food is mess-free, so forget about pizza or chicken wings. Instead, opt for sandwiches and fruit. If you want to have some extra fun, get a bottle of champagne or another alcoholic drink of your choice. Also, be sure to pick the right location such as an idyllic park or a beach. And finally, pay attention to the weather forecast as you don’t want to be surprised by rain or thunderstorm while you’re eating outside.
5. Go to a movie

Before you roll your eyes, remember that you don’t need to go to a flashy movie theatre to watch the latest superhero movie, because there are other options to watch different films in much more relaxed spaces. If possible, find a small, specialised move theatre that plays vintage or foreign films. You can definitely learn something new and have a new topic for discussion if you choose, let’s say, a Spanish romantic movie, than a well-known blockbuster. A lot of places offer special movie nights when they show only certain genres such as French neo-noir or South American crime drama. Feel free to step out of your comfort zone as a couple and watch something different and unique.
6. Play some music and dance together

Sometimes, couples get caught up in their day-to-day routine that they forget what it’s like to feel the butterflies. That’s why you should take time from busy preparations and do something fun, and maybe a bit childish. Dancing can also be great therapy and an excellent form of exercise. You can play anything you like from sexy R&B and pop to drum n bass and old school classics. Forget all your present concerns about the wedding and get lost in the rhythm. Close your eyes and don’t forget to touch each other. Be silly and childish and most importantly, enjoy the presence of one another.
