Founded in 2000, The Wedding Guide UK provides an online wedding supplier directory, a digital handbook (available in printed format again as soon as covid allows!) and direct access to highly professional, friendly companies.
Since launching her business in January 2000, Liz Clark, founder of The Wedding Guide UK has become one of the most best loved and widely respected characters in the wedding industry today.
Over half a million copies of the hand book have been distributed since The Wedding Guide UK was created. Wedding suppliers from the very first edition still advertise year after year which is the best testimonial ever!
The Wedding Guide UK helps couples planning their weddings to find their wedding suppliers through the stunning A5 printed directory and through the website. Books are available free of charge to couples planning their weddings via wedding fairs, venues and some bridal shops and Register Offices. 24,000 FREE copies are given out at over 300 wedding fairs across Yorkshire and the North East each year.
The launch of The Wedding Guide UK Networking Meetings in 2012, saw Liz fulfill her passion to encouraging wedding suppliers to work together in a spirit of friendship and collaboration rather than competition.
Liz retired in 2020 and The Wedding Guide UK was taken over by Dawn Marie who was ‘the first person in the North East to hand the guides out back in 2000 and has worked alongside Liz ever since.
Dawn Marie has working in the wedding industry since 1995, and is the longest established, independent wedding planner in our region. With over 28 years experience and over 575 weddings successfully arranged, her renowned reputation is enviable.
Having worked with the best suppliers, venues and registrars in the north-east for so long, Dawn Marie knows the industry inside out. Dawns reputation for the highest standards in professionalism, attention to detail and patience along with her sense of humour make her the perfect planner.
Dawn Marie has also developed the highly successful brands of ‘Elite Wedding Events’ and ‘Interactive Wedding Shows’ as well as running a highly successful Business Consultancy giving support to local wedding suppliers and venues, helping new wedding companies establish themselves in the region, coordinating promotional photo shoots, shop and venue launches and ghost writing many of the regions wedding packs.
Dawn Marie took over the running of The Wedding Guide UK in 2020 and continues to help couples, wedding businesses and venues to thrive in this amazing industry.
