Wedding Decorations on a Budget!
Wedding favours and table decorations on a budget
We all know weddings don’t come cheap, but believe it or not – there are some things which you can do to help keep costs down.
We all know that us Yorkshire folk have a bit of a reputation for wanting to pay the lowest possible price, but when it comes to organising a wedding, there are good reasons to try and keep costs down (least of all is that you’ll have more money to put towards your honeymoon!)
So if you’re looking to organise a wedding on a ‘Yorkshire’ budget, we’ve put together some suggestions on how to save a few pennies on your wedding favours and table decorations.
- Make your own wedding favours
There are plenty of DIY wedding favour boxes available from as little as 30p per box. There are hundreds of different designs and colours to choose from so you don’t have to compromise. Get your bridesmaids around one night, crack open a bottle of wine and start a wedding favour production line in your living room!
- Choose edible wedding favour fillings
When it comes to filling your wedding favour bags or boxes, choose edible fillings such as chocolate hearts or dragees that you can buy in bulk to save on the cost of separate sweets.
- Less is more with wedding favour accessorising.
Less is more, when it comes to accessorising your wedding favour boxes, so choose something simple such as organza ribbon tied around the box into a bow – this will look stunning and we normally find that one roll of standard ribbon will go a long way (up to 100 boxes!), meaning you don’t need to fork out for individual items to decorate the boxes.
- Mixed sex wedding favours
Give men and women the same wedding favours we are seeing more and more brides who are opting to break the tradition of separate favours for each sex, making things much more simple and straightforward, not to mention easier on the wallet.
- Utilise wedding confetti
To decorate tables, use table confetti as opposed to rose petals – one 14g bag of confetti can cost as little as £1.50 but should decorate up to three tables. Also, wedding table confetti comes in many different colours and designs making it easy for you find one that’ll fit in with your colour scheme.
- Use candelabras instead of wedding flowers
You can save money by not having a flower display on each table centre flowers are beautiful but can easily zap your reception decoration budget. We often recommend hiring candelabras and dressing them with classic ivory taper candles draped in greenery. It looks beautiful and is much cheaper than fresh flowers.
So there you have it some great ways to help you create a stunning Yorkshire wedding on a uniquely ‘Yorkshire’ budget. If you’d like any more information or advice on how we can help you to create your dream Yorkshire wedding day, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
