Top Tips for Dancing in Your Wedding Dress
You have chosen your gown and selected your first dance anthem. You imagine it to be a romantic, beautiful and perfect moment in your Wedding Day, but have you considered how easy it will be to dance in your gown? It’s not only the first dance to consider but how you will manage dancing all night in a heavy, long or wide gown. Here are some top tips for dancing in your wedding dress from two experts. Top 5 Tips for Dancing in Your Wedding Dress

Tip One
If you haven’t chosen your dress yet, there are a few styles which will make dancing a whole lot easier. Try the ‘high low’ dress where the hem is slightly higher at the front than the back. A dress with a detachable train is also a great idea. Or why not use it as the perfect excuse to get 2 completely different dresses! Dresses vary immensely in weight too and generally the lighter the dress the easier it is to dance in.

Tip Two
If you’ve already found your dream dress, one option is to ‘bustle’ the dress. This can be done using a hook and eye on the outside or bustled from the inside using a button. Some dresses already have this facility when purchased. If yours doesn’t, the good news is that in terms of alterations, this is a relatively quick job.
Tip Three
The dress / shoe combination can be tricky! Have a little practice dancing in your wedding dress with your wedding shoes on. If they are problematic why not try changing a wedge. You could even jump on the comfy bandwagon of the wedding trainer trend or sparkly Converse. Some trainers come with a wedge maintaining the perfect dress length all night long.
Tip Four
Extra shoe security! For court shoes that tend to flop on and off when dancing we’d highly recommend the ‘clear strap’. The clear strap can be put around the shoe to give that extra bit of security. We often use these at Sashay Dance and they are fab!

Tip Five
No drinks! We highly recommend leaving your drink at the table. Dancing around with a drink in a normal dress is hard enough never mind with a full wedding dress! It is your wedding though, so if you do want to drink and dance, remember a nice champagne is least likely to stain!
Most importantly…have the most amazing wedding day and lots of fun!
