Location can be paramount to a successful proposal and with so many locations throughout the world that are deemed to be the perfect place to propose, have you ever wondered what the most swoon-worthy instagrammable locations are?
Jewellery retailer F.hinds conducted research around the most successful proposal locations and how Brits would actually prefer to be proposed to.
The research looked at the most popular Instagram hashtags and the number of posts attributed to each one,ÿto identify the most successful proposal locations around the world. It’s safe to say that when that all-important question gets asked, we’re keen to share not only the moment, but show off where it actually happened too. So, what are the most popular locations?

Unsurprisingly, top of the list was the city of love’s most famous landmark – Eiffel Tower, Paris – with over 1,500 engagement hashtags in the past year alone. This was followed by Santorini Greece and its breathtaking views with over 1,000 engagement hashtags and rounding off the top three is the Indonesian island of Bali at 870 engagement hashtags.
Theÿtop ten list is as follows:

#bridetobe has a staggering 12.7 million posts from the past year, #engaged has 10.9 million, #shesaidyes has 3.1 million and #proposal has 1.9 million.

The research also looked at Brits opinions to proposals and one in five Brits state that location is important to a successful proposal. Nearly three quarters of people would also prefer a private, traditional proposal. Only 3% would prefer something public.
Proposals can be a very exciting yet stressful experience for everyone involved.
