Wedding Lost and Found
YOUNG’S HIRE REVEALS LIST OF MOST COMMON & UNUSUAL ITEMS FOUND IN WEDDING POCKETS
As the romantic, intricately planned wedding day turns into night, wedding receptions are notorious for copious amounts of drinking and dancing – often leading to a few red faces the next morning and new data released by Young’s Hire today has revealed some of the most shocking and unusual items discovered in returned groomsmen’s suits over the last 12 months.
The data analysis carried out by Young’s Hire, the largest formalwear hire company in the UK, analysed more than 400,000 garment hires during the last 12 months and revealed some fascinating trends when it comes to men and their wedding outfits.
As part of their standard checks on returned wedding garments staff have found items including a pocket full of rotting prawns, more than a dozen pairs of false teeth and copious amounts of non-prescription drugs.
The top five most unusual items left behind in rented suits in 2014 were:
1.Prawns
2.Hearing aids
3.False Teeth
4.Non-prescription drugs
5.A clown suit
Despite the most unusual items causing some staff surprise, there are a number of items that make a regular appearance in the Young’s return warehouse, with Garters and Viagra topping the most common items in the left behind list this year.
Some of the (worryingly) common items left behind:
1.Garters
2.Viagra
3.Marriage certificates
4.Unused condoms (used have also be found!)
5.Wallets
Chris Burns, Operations Controller at Young’s, comments: We provide the hire service for the whole of Debenhams so we hire a lot of garments across the country and as a result we’ve had some really amusing items left behinds over the years. This year we thought it would be great to take a look back and review some of the most unusual and humorous items our staff have found and more often than not, returned to their rightful owners. I never fail to be surprised by some of the things returned but it’s actually some of the more common items we find that concern me the most!
Marriage certificates, passports, bank cards, we find hundreds of these every month – we even have a dedicated area of our warehouse just for the garters that are left behind. We would really like to encourage people to try and remember to double and triple check their pockets before risking their security or even their honeymoon plans by leaving behind vital documents or items.
Young’s Hire has more than 195 locations across the UK, with concessions in the likes of Debenhams, Suit Direct and Jeff Banks. For more information, visit http://www.youngs-hire.co.uk.
