Hens go to Iceland!
GoHen.com reports that Reykjavik is becoming a big hit with hen parties.
Bright lights, big city. Well actually the city isn’t that big, Iceland’s entire national population is just 328,000* (roughly the same population as Cardiff) but Reykjavik and Iceland do have amazing lights, in fact 2017 is being hailed as ‘The Year of the Aurora’. Things are so bright that hen party specialists GoHen.com have recorded a 275% increase in enquiries from hens interested in visiting Reykjavik.
It’s 4 times cheaper to fly to Iceland than get a trainÿticket from London to Manchester
More commonly known as ‘The Northern Lights’ the aurora borealis are governed by solar cycles and scientists are predicting that 2017 is set to be the brightest year as the solar activity that causes the phenomenon will reach the peak brightness of its 11-year cycle.
But that’s not the only reason brides and their parties are picking Iceland. Reykjavik and the surrounding area are packed with incredible activities and attractions for daring hens such as;
| Whale Watching | Tour the ‘Golden Circle’ |
| Blue Lagoon Spa | Glacier Hiking |
| Snowmobiling | Paragliding |
| Whitewater Rafting | Volcano Hiking |
At a time when hen parties are looking for increasingly alternative and adventurous ways to celebrate with the nearly-wed after she’s spent weeks of often stressful wedding planning, Iceland offers a total escape and with flights to Iceland offering better value for money than British rail or road travel, Iceland looks set to grow even more popular with pre-wedding parties.The results of the poll threw up more surprises than a drunken best man’s speech.
In a recent poll the majority of the nation said they believe in elves.
GoHen.com’s Director of Sales Matt Lay said, “It’s not surprising Reykjavik is becoming increasingly popular with hen parties. A beautiful destination that is really forward thinking while still packed with fun quirks such as the School of Elf Studies and midnight sun during the summer months. And flights are now exceptionally reasonable making it more accessible than ever before.”
