The Details
How did you and your partner meet? We chatted online via Oasis back in 2012 and decided to meet for a date at Darling Harbor.
How did he propose? With a trip around the city, visiting lots of our favourite spots. We started at the place of our first date and ended on the steps of at the Opera House at sunset where he got down on one knee.
What’s your most important piece of advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship? Always communicate your needs and wants and listen to your partner when they tell you theirs.
How did you choose your wedding gown? I tried on a few in stores and the one just felt right!
What sort of style did you envision for your wedding day? Classic and vintage.
What was your favorite moment from the day? The ceremony kiss!
Any DIY decor elements? Instead of vases, I scoured op-shops and family cupboards for teapots to hold our table flowers. This DIY decor element was homage to the venue as the tea room. We also named the tables as kinds of tea instead of numbers.
If you could do it all over again, what would you change? I would change my attitude slightly, I tried to be super ‘bridechilla’ about everything but I wasn’t really happy with the alterations to my dress. I would speak up about it if I had my time over.
Any tips that you can give to future brides? On the day, take it all in. You’ve likely been planning and thinking about it for a while so just relax and enjoy the big day with your family, friends and husband!
