Congratulations on your engagement
– Planning your wedding, so let the excitement & fun begin!
Why is it that so many couples, especially brides to be, (NO, I do not mean this in any sexist was what so ever, but it does seem to be a more common symptom that women seem to suffer from), suffer from panic attacks and anxiety, in the run up to the big day?
As a couple in love you should cherish these days and the experience of shopping around planning the special day.ÿ Indifferent of how big or small your budget is, every wedding day is special, every couple deserve undivided attention and a great day to fondly speak about and remember with your friends and loved ones for many years following,
Easier said then done you may ask, right? Well I promise you it is not as stressful in reality, I can promise you that.
Yes I understand you want your day to go perfectly well, according to plan and everyone present to have a great day. That’s absolutely understandable and very reasonably correct.
The secret for this are your chosen suppliers. Whatever you are shopping for, whichever suppliers you choose, just remember a few very important things.
1) Of ultimate importance, keep to your budget. Do not organise a wedding to impress, but a wedding you both, as a couple can truly enjoy, not having to put further strain on you financially.
2) NEVER part with your hard well earned money in the form of deposits, booking fees, however they may be described, before checking the relevant supplier’s reviews.
- ÿAlways ask for evidence of previous work he or she have done;
- ÿContingency plans; What happens if God forbid the supplier you have selected falls ill, orÿÿ for any otherÿ ÿreason he cannot attend?
- ÿIf the price / cost / package, is to good to be true it usually is!
- Remember that the sweetness of a cheap price wears off far quicker than the bitterness of poor quality.
- Make sure that the person you are dealing with is actually the person planning to manage your wedding. Particularly Wedding DJs are notorious for this unfortunately.
They take your booking then just sub-contract that booking to the first available, something I personally have NEVER done and never will!
Don’t get misled or fooled with the typical excuse we are a team of DJs, all professional..
Finally, remember this is YOUR DAY, do not let anyone dictate what you have to have whether it’s music choice or choice or suppliers etc.
Take your time, select your suppliers wisely, make sure they have the appropriate accreditations, satisfy yourself with previous assignment evidence, ask for their T&C’s before paying any fees at all, read them carefully and ask for clarification of any clauses that may seem unclearly worded to you and make sure all paperwork and receipts are kept safe.
With all those boxes ticked, you can enjoy the excitement of the planning stages and the big day will be well taken care of for you through the suppliers doing what they are best qualified to do, offering you full peace of mind!
Happy wedding shopping and I wish you all the very best of good luck for your upcoming very special day!
