Essential Jewellery for your Wedding Day
Now that you’ve answered ‘yes’ to the dress, it’s time to start making arrangements for your big day. Probably the most important is deciding what you’re going to wear. It’s not just the dress that needs to be perfect though, your jewellery must be as spectacular – if not more!
From lavish diamond wedding rings to elegant pearl earrings, we take a look at some must-have wedding jewellery to ensure your ‘look’ is one to remember for years to come.
Wedding Ring
It goes without saying that you need a wedding ring for your ceremony. However, it’s not as simple as just choosing a gold band. You will be wearing this alongside your engagement ring for the rest of your life.
First things first, aim to choose a band that perfectly complements your engagement ring in order to create a coherent look. This doesn’t necessarily need to be two rings that look identical. Instead, you could match a gold rose gold band to a white gold band.
Also, decide if matching rings are something you want for you and your partner. This is a great idea for soon-to-be spouses to take their togetherness to another level. Again, they don’t need to be totally alike; for example, your band could include sparkle and embellishments while his could simply be a no-fuss plain ring.
Earrings
Earrings stand out as one of the best ways to complement your wedding dress. You could opt for something gracefully refined to send a subtle message or go all out and make a memorable statement.
If you’re going for the former, maybe try a pair of diamond drop earrings that are sure to dazzle your guests. Alternatively, if you’d rather keep things less ostentatious, consider a pair of classic pearl studs.
Regardless, you don’t want these to take all the attention off your outfit, so try on a few pairs with your gown first to gather some inspiration.
Necklace
What better way to draw attention to your face than a stunning necklace? Like with your other pieces of jewellery, you could decide on a timeless gold chain or pendant or something more daring like a pearl choker or a chunky diamond necklace.

Consider including your ‘something blue’ in your necklace too. The colour blue has long been a tradition in weddings due to its association with trust, loyalty, and faithfulness. Including a blue gemstone, like sapphire, in your necklace could be the perfect way of honouring this tradition.
Hair Accessories
While not for every bride-to-be, hair accessories are a great way to incorporate some additional sparkle if you wish to. If you’re opting for a more traditional appearance, a tiara would work well. But if your dress is say boho or contemporary, you may look to hair vine designs that can be woven into various hairstyles.
You could also use a bejewelled hair clip or comb to put your hair up later in the evening without compromising on style.
