Your Perfect Pre-Wedding Skin Care
In the lead up to the wedding, many brides focus on hitting the gym and eating right, and end up forgetting about their skin until the very last minute! If this sounds like you, no need to worry, we’ve got you covered. Today we’re going to share our six best tips for preparing your skin for your wedding, so you can walk down the aisle looking as radiant as a Disney princess.
Stick to the basics
It can be tempting to do one of two things as your big day looms; either you become so overwhelmed with all the plans you have to make that you forget to remove your makeup at the end of the day, or two, you think you need to go overboard with a daily deep cleansing mask. Stick to your daily cleanser, toner, and moisturizer, and you’ll find your skin will play along and be camera ready.
Avoid the skin detox
When you introduce new products into your routine, you may notice a detox period, when your skin seems to rebel against the new. While it’s always better to use organic, clean skincare over conventional skincare, you should try to do this as far in advance as you can to avoid waking up to breakouts on your wedding away. Consider incorporating products like Beauty of Joseon into your routine for a radiant complexion

Exfoliate far in advance
Exfoliation is key to glowing, beautiful skin, but more intense exfoliations like microdermabrasion and peels can cause you to break out initially as they pull toxins out from deep inside the pores. This is a good thing and once the toxins make their way out your skin will glow baby glow, but of course, you don’t want to deal with breakouts too close to the big day. Make sure you get any intense exfoliations done a good 6-8 weeks before your wedding day.
Use sunscreen every day
This is one tip we recommend all year long, so we had to include it in this list! A good sunscreen won’t only keep your skin protected and reduce your risk of skin cancer, it will prevent nasty UV rays from speeding up the aging process. Apply an organic SPF of at least 30 or higher over your moisturizer every day before you head out.
Stay hydrated from the inside out
While we adore hydrating oils and serums to leave our skin dewy and bright, if you aren’t staying hydrated internally too, you aren’t going to get the results you want. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day is key to keeping your skin cells hydrated and plump so you can rock smooth, supple and youthful skin!
Get your beauty sleep
This can be difficult some nights, especially with all the planning and stress that goes with planning a wedding. Good sleep, however, is key to helping your body better manage stress and keep your spirits up, not to mention it will keep your complexion vibrant and healthy. If falling asleep is hard for you, try drinking some lavender and tulsi tea before bed, dimming the lights and diffusing some soothing essential oils like lavender, ylang-ylang, and jasmine.
Follow these tips and you’ll enjoy beautiful skin as a result of healthy lifestyle choices and abundant health!
