YOUR GUIDE ON BRIDAL JEWELLERY – THE DO’S AND DON’TS
Every bride wants to look amazing on her big day. The fact is, every detail matters when trying to create the perfect wedding look. Bridal accessories can make or break your look, so pay a little extra attention to them. Whether you choose to wear the more classic pearls or prefer the extravagant diamonds, there are a few unwritten rules you should consider. Here is your guide on bridal jewellery.
DO Match Your Jewellery to Your Dress

Probably the most important thing you need to pay attention to when choosing your bridal jewellery is to match the colours and style to your dress and other accessories. Always pay attention to the finishes when choosing your pieces. For example, if that gorgeous pair of drop earrings you are planning on wearing comes in white gold, make sure your dress and other accessories match the metal. If the beading on your dress is more of a gold tone, choose jewellery that comes in yellow gold, rather than platinum. Save the rose gold jewellery for a blush or champagne dress. And don’t forget about the style of your gown. Don’t wear a necklace if your dress has a high neckline as it will be too much. The same is valid for a long-sleeved dress. Avoid wearing bracelets if your dress comes with long sleeves, and stick to earrings and a simple necklace instead.
DON’T Overdo It

Less is more is what we always say, and bridal jewellery is no exception. Your dress is probably embellished with lace or beading, so adding too much bling might take the attention away from you. However, if you choose to wear a simple, plain dress, making a statement with your bridal jewellery is totally acceptable. If you want to introduce some colour into your wedding attire and are keen on wearing your favourite birthstone earrings for your big day, make sure they echo your wedding colour palette. Try to consider the colour of your bridesmaids dresses as well.
DO Mix & Match
If you want to wear a full set of matching jewellery on your big day, that’s absolutely fine, but remember that you don’t have to. The dress and accessories you wear on your wedding day should reflect your personality. So don’t be afraid to show that through your jewellery. Mixing vintage and modern pieces is perfectly OK or timeless pieces like classic stud earrings with a more striking necklace. As long as the metals and colours of the jewellery are similar. So, take out that heirloom pair of earrings your grandma gave you and add a matching modern necklace to complete your look.
DON’T Forget About Your Other Bridal Accessories
More often than not, we tend to focus on our jewellery and sometimes forget about the rest of the accessories. Whether you’re wearing a headpiece, a veil or other hair pieces, make sure that all your jewellery coordinates well with all of your accessories, including your shoes and bag. Try them all on together beforehand and see how they work. Are the colours matching? What about the style – is it all cohesive?
DO Match Your Jewellery to Your Personal Style

Your wedding attire should be an extension of your personality, so choose jewellery that matches that. Instead of spending money on trendy pieces that you will only wear once, opt for jewellery that you can wear even after the wedding. Depending on the style of the items, you might be able to wear your wedding jewellery at different events or, why not, for an everyday look.
