WEDDING DRESS STYLE
Which style are you?
With so many different styles to choose from, how do you know which wedding dress style will suit you? Helen from Simply Wed Bridal in Whitley Bay offers some words of wisdom.
In short you need to try them on. Oh, and be open to trying on something you never thought you would. So many brides come in with ideas and images of what they think will suit them and walk out ecstatic after choosing something that they never imagined they would!
Consider what your wedding day theme is, how your dress will tie in? Are you having a casual or more formal affair? Most importantly choose a dress that you are comfortable in. You want to be able to dance all night.
Remember, beauty comes from within. You should feel confident, comfortable and beautiful and absolutely radiate gorgeousness on your big day!
Choosing your wedding gown should be a relaxing, enjoyable, and personal experience.
At Simply Wed Bridal, you will be met with a warm friendly greeting and offered to share this time with 3 of your closest friends or family.
Take a seat on one of our 2 comfortable sofa’s and enjoy a complimentary drink whilst we find out a little bit about you and your ideas for your big day and your dress.
Our focus at Simply Wed Bridal is on You.
We want you to enjoy the experience and try on a variety of different styles and fabrics so we can help you find your absolutely perfect gown.
To get the best of your appointment, I would advise to start looking approximately 12 months before your wedding. This enables you to see the most up to date gowns and allows time for both delivery and alterations.
Here is my guide to help find Your Wedding Dress Style
Ball Gown
Ball wedding gowns evoke the most formal of styles for wedding dress attire, since their attention-grabbing skirts are often multi-layered and extremely full, making them steal the spotlight at your wedding.
Layers of ruffles, tulle, and satin organza provide endless details for onlookers to discover. Trains add extra dramatic flair for formal weddings.
Suits:-
Tall, Slender, Hourglass, Pear-shaped and Inverted Triangle ladies.

Ball Gown
Mermaid / Fishtail
Think of those ladies of the sea when you envision mermaid wedding dresses, which are fitted from the waist to the knee then flare out below the knee for a captivating style. Similarly, trumpet wedding dresses feature a straight skirt that has a more fitted look, before it flares out at the mid-thigh or knees to create a trumpet shape. These curve-hugging silhouettes are wildly popular today, since they blend the feminine fun of a flowy skirt with a curve-enhancing fit.
Suits:-
Hourglass, Tall, Slender, Pear-shaped ladies.

Fishtail Gown
Empire Gowns
Empire gowns are another type of dress that flatters just about any body type, with a fitted top and high skirt that create the illusion of long legs. Brides who want to focus on their assets above the waist can look for delicate details on fitted bodices. Empire gown skirts can range from soft and more flowy, to structured and straighter, while all provide coverage and a comfortable fit
Suits:-
Petite, Apple, Pear Shaped women, Hourglass, Tall and Slender and Fuller Figure ladies

Empire Gown
Princess / A-Line
Like the princess name implies, you’ll feel like royalty in an A-line/princess wedding dress. The flowing bottom and narrow top create an “A” shape that adds elegance to these dreamy gowns. Brides who have concerns about large hips and who want extra comfort at their weddings can move around comfortably in these garments.
Suits:-
Petite, Apple, Pear Shaped women, Hourglass, Tall and Slender and Fuller Figure ladies

A-Line Gown
Column
Sheath and column dresses may seem deceptively simple, but they are actually some of the most elegant wedding dress styles around. With beautiful details like lace, beading, and notice-me necklines, you can go as fancy as you want with sheaths, or opt for a more natural look that still comes out stunning.

Hourglass, Tall & Slender and Petite
