The Perfect Wedding Favours
It’s the little things that make all the difference, especially when it comes to wedding favours. Compared to everything else, organising favours for your wedding guests can seem like quite an insignificant part of your big day but it’s a lovely way to show your friends and family how much you appreciate them sharing your special day with you, and a big thanks for all their support.
Traditionally, at weddings couples used to give out love knots which were made of ribbons and lace to say thanks for coming to their guests. Over the years the tradition died and now the most commonplace favours are confectionary- little bags of sugared almonds and heart shaped chocolates.
Trendy ideas at the moment are at the moment are little personalised packets of seeds so guests can grow their own plants afterwards or small milk bottles engraved with your married name and a few flowers inside (this can be a little bit more expensive but does look really nice). Tea lights and scented candles are always well received and novelty bottle openers are great for male guests. It’s also a good idea to make up some bags of gummy sweets if you know you have children attending to keep them occupied.
It’s a good idea to sit down with your partner and think about what you guests would really appreciate and it doesn’t have to be expensive. Making up little bags of guests’ favourite old fashioned sweets is also a nice touch and shows you have thought about them individually. Scented soaps, miniature photo frames and tiny jars of homemade jam or chutney are really popular ideas.
It’s nice to be different though and a lot of couples are taking advantage of unique wedding favour ideas. Miniature bottles of wine or spirits are a popular wedding trend of the moment, companies like Just Miniatures offer personalised alcoholic favours which are sure to go down a storm on your big day. These allow you and your partner to put your own stamp on the day and thank your friends and family in a way you know they’ll appreciate.
Don’t be afraid to go for something unique, favours are very personal and your guests are sure to appreciate anything which represents you two as a couple. The perfect favours are often the most original ones, so get thinking of your best ideas.
