Should I Have Photos of Getting Ready For My Wedding?
Most photographers will give you the option of having photographs taken while you are getting ready. This should be entirely up to you. Some brides would rather keep this preparation private, between her and her bridesmaids. Others like the fact that it’s the start of the story of your day.
If you do decide on having photos taken whilst you’re getting ready, you can choose between having photos taken before you put your dress on, or after. One advantage of the photographer covering this time of the wedding, is that they can capture all of the details such as your bouquet and your shoes.

If you decide not to have photos of you before you put your dress on, it’s always quite nice to have a couple of shots of your attendants getting you into your dress. This shows off the detail of the back of your dress.

Of course, a lovely thing to capture is the expression on your parent’s face when they see you in your dress for the first time.

Before the ceremony is sometimes a good time to get a couple of bridal portraits. You may look back on the pictures and remember how nervous you felt, or how excited you felt.

As ever, discussing with your photographer exactly what you want during the photos of your bridal preparation is important. Work out the details with them beforehand and then you can relax and enjoy getting ready on your special day.
