Eight Bridal Hair and Make-Up Trends for 2023
Don’t just show-up, glow up! 2023 wedding hair and make-up trends are all about embracing your natural beauty and style and Helen and Angela, the experts behind north east based Wedding Angels have unveiled their top style predictions for what we will see brides rocking in 2023…
HAIR
1. Embracing your natural beauty
While you want to look your absolute best on your wedding day, you still want to look like you! In 2023 we’ll see more brides ditching the hair extensions and opting for a style that highlights and shows off their natural beauty. Ask your stylist for the best styles for your face-shape and hair length and be inspired by styles that your hair type will love – play to your strengths when it comes to curly, wavy or straight hair and take advice from your stylist about how to feel and look the most fabulous.
2. If you got short hair put your hands up
So you’ve got engaged and immediately start growing your hair out, well, not on our watch! We love a bride with a short do and a French bob or pixie cut doesn’t mean less fun when it comes to wedding hair creations. There are plenty of ways to create a stunning look while keeping your statement shortie style, try playing with jewels, hairbands, even a braid or two to fashion those romantic vibes.
3. Less really does mean more
A minimalist, effortless or sleek approach creates a really modern, stylish look that won’t upstage the dress. Embrace your inner fashionista in 2023 and opt for a sleek centre parting that doesn’t distract from your glowing complexion or simple chignon (or bun!) that will show off the details on the back of your gown – remember, when you’re standing at the front of the ceremony this is what your guests will see the most!
4. Don’t put the up-do down
You heard it from the horses’ mouth – ponytails are no longer relegated to day three hair or trips to the supermarket. Whether you go for a structured look or a more relaxed, bohemian vibe, you can elevate the classic pony tail and totally transform your look into one that is low maintenance but high in wow factor so you can concentrate on dancing the night away.

MAKE-UP
5. You GLOW girl!
Healthy, natural, luminous, glowing skin, yes please! Radiant, dewy skin with a focus on hydration is in this year. Who doesn’t want gorgeous glowing skin that looks healthy, youthful and fresh and they walk down the aisle. Say ‘I do’ to the ‘glass face’ look and you’ll look and feel naturally beautiful and as glowing from the first kiss to the last dance of the night.
6. You little Gem
Crystals, pearls and gemstones have been all the rage on the catwalks and they are about to get their moment on the wedding aisle too. Including one or two crystals in your look is all you need for a minimal but stunning effect. Try a dazzling eye-liner or a single crystal to the inner corner of your eye to really make them pop – and why stop at the face! Adding subtle crystals to your hair adds another element to a structured style and will look amazing on your photos too.
7. Blushing Bride
Blush is back baby and bolder than ever. Forget just bronzer and highlighter for your wedding look and bring some life back into your skin by adding shades of pink too. Ask your make-up artist to add blush to your lips, cheeks and nose to make your whole face glow.
8. Pucker Up
Matte lips be gone! 2023 is all about hydrated, glossy lips that are perfect for that first kiss. Gloss can be worn alone or added on top of a bunch of colour with coral and berry tones being THE shades to go for this year. To avoid chapped, dry lips ahead of the big day introduce lip balm into your evening beauty routine.
