Have you just recently got engaged? Have you set your date? Booked the photographer, event dresser and co-ordinator? Fantastic, now let’s start looking at how you are going to look, and most importantly feel, on your special day. Wedding dress shopping should be an enjoyable, relaxed experience. Here are some reassuring words from the owner of Simply Wed Bridal.
Where to start
There are so many lovely things to think about and so many options to choose from, so how can you start to narrow things down and make decisions? For so many brides the most exciting, but also overwhelming part of your wedding preparations is choosing your dream wedding dress. This is where I would like to help.
My name is Helen Danbury-Trott, and I am the owner of Simply Wed Bridal Boutique in Monkseaton.

I launched ‘Simply Wed Bridal Limited’ in January 2020 and the core value for my business is exceptional customer service. Your appointment quite simply must be all about ‘You.’ You should look and feel incredible.
Your journey with us
I offer two different appointments. One is ‘The Browsing Experience’. This is a 30-minute appointment where you and I sit down on one of the comfortable sofas with a cuppa and we chat about your plans for your big day. What styles you think you might like, fabrics and any themes that you may be thinking about. You may also want to show me images of dresses you have seen and liked the look of. I will show you around the boutique, your personal changing area and give you the opportunity to look through the current range of dresses. Throughout this I will also try to answer any questions that you may have.
The main reason for this appointment is for us to build up rapport so that you feel comfortable when it comes to trying dresses on in the next appointment, the ‘Bridal Consultation.’
If you are happy and confident that you just want to get straight in to try on dresses, then you can skip the ‘browsing experience and go straight to the consultation. Its all about personal preference and you enjoying the experience.
So, what is involved in the Bridal Consultation?
This is a 90-minute appointment and if you have never tried on gowns before I highly recommend that you use this opportunity to try on various shapes and fabrics.
You are welcome to bring three other guests with you. They can make themselves comfortable and offered a beverage whilst you change. Just let me know when you are ready for the dress to be fastened properly. You don’t need any fancy underwear, just a nude seamless pair of knickers will suffice and so that the dresses don’t stain I kindly request that you don’t wear fake tan. Once you are happy, we will then return to the waiting area to show your loved ones.
Veils, capes, and accessories can also be tried on at this time and often finish off the whole look.
The whole experience should be an enjoyable one, I won’t apply any sales pressure but if you do find your dream dress I will take your body measurements to order, we shall have a little celebration and then complete paperwork and discuss payment plans that are available to you.
