Dog Chaperone Service
When planning your wedding there is so much to think about that sometimes you may forget the small details or forget about the most important person… The Dog!
To a lot of us, the Dog is a family member and why not have them at your wedding. Your dog maybe the reason why you are getting married, and they brought you together? Have you seen 101 Dalmatians…..

This is now possible and there are many Pet Care professions that will care for your dog and be their plus1. From picking up in the morning of your wedding to looking after your dog for the night while you dance away until the early hours.
Here are some notes for you to think about when planning on having your dog at your wedding:
- Is your venue dog friendly?- You maybe getting married at the same place where you are having your reception. They may only allow your dog outside which would be suitable for photos.
- Does your church let well behaved dogs inside? Ask the Vicar.
- Will your dog be happy around your wedding guest? Some dogs get a little anxious when there are too many people around.
- Will your wedding guests be happy around your dog?- There is sometimes a friend or family member that has to be there that no one likes, but most people loves a cute dog in an outfit.
- Are you happy to have dog hairs on your wedding attire? You have spent months finding the perfect dress/suite to then find hairs or muddy paws when you go for your wedding breakfast.
- What part of your wedding would you like your dog to be in? just the photos, a ring bearer, flower dog or sat at a table barking at the jokes during the speeches.? It’s yours and the venues choice, but your dogs plus one will look after them whatever you decide.
- Booking your dog into the groomers so they are beautiful and smelling amazing. This can be arranged the morning of or the day before your wedding. Your dog’s chaperone can arrange this and be their chauffeur so it is one thing for you not to worry about.
- Is your dog well behaved? Will they bark during the service, will they steal the food, or pee upon the cake stand? Everybody’s dog is a good boy or girl but are they wedding friendly?
- Is your dog’s chaperone, licensed and insured? This may seem a very basic requirement but it is scary on how many people offer this service who aren’t? Always ask to see their credentials.
- Do you want your dog to wear an outfit, bow tie, floral collar, a dog’s tuxedo? These are all available it’s just your personal choice and what your dog will allow you to put on them.

When everyone who looks after your pets will be at your wedding, you are going to need a pet care professional, so you don’t need to worry. Find one by asking friends and family, social media and the www. Arrange to meet them before your wedding and go through your pet’s personal needs. This maybe feeding the cat or rabbit or if your dog isn’t wedding friendly then they will have lots of fun in the pet carer’s hands and will be so excited to see you when you return.
