Ideas for Springtime Woodland Weddings
The days may not yet be at their shortest and the threat of snow is still a distant one, but for those planning a springtime wedding now is the time to start thinking of themes and design ideas. Here at Escrick Park our events team are excited to help those booking into our woodland wedding venue develop their ideas into a truly magical day, and have picked out their favourites themes to help inspire you
Rustic woodland themes
Taking inspiration from the surroundings, some of our favourite ideas are the most simple. From ivy-wrapped branches as a wedding arch to flower favours, the natural world is the perfect inspiration for more traditional designs. The colours of the woodland in springtime are gorgeous, and accenting the fresh greens in your colour scheme would look fantastic in your wedding photos. A splash of lime here and an evergreen underskirt there will brighten up a traditional palette for a pretty and rustic look.
Lanterns in the branches
There is something so enchanting about fairy lights and Chinese paper lanterns strung in the branches this magical look lends itself to an unforgettable evening at your woodland wedding. Easily done, this sweet lighting idea adds a magical look as the reception takes place under the branches, and is a great way to light pathways, too. Make sure to use outdoor-specific lights so that they’re waterproof in case of springtime showers!
Sunny colours
Spring is the season when the first bright flowers emerge from the frostbitten ground. Make the most of the natural setting with a floral theme. Flowers on the cake, seasonal flowers in the bouquet and even simple sunflower centrepieces will all add charm and look bright on such a happy occasion as your wedding day. Instead of having the more traditional fabric tiebacks on your chairs, why not adorn wooden chairs with flower garlands?
Woodland-inspired wedding cake
The wedding cake is one of the highlights of the day, so why not have a showstopper with tiers decorated with various woodland themes? From marzipan mushrooms to delicately arranged flowers that look like they’re tumbling down the cake, there are countless ideas for a truly unique woodland wedding cake. We are particular fans of cakes with woodland themes and log slices as a base. With plenty of examples out there you’ll not be short of inspiration.
Fabric choices to reflect the season
Spring is the time of year to use light fabrics, while the woodland setting begs for rustic touches. Burlap and lace-wrapped jars for your floral centrepieces just scream vintage whimsy, while flowing fabrics draped over branches to create arches and false ‘roof’ effects are a delicate way to tie-in your colour scheme with the overall design.
Whether you are aiming for a traditional rustic woodland wedding or a quirky vintage theme or perhaps something with a modern twist to juxtapose with the setting our team at Escrick Park are ready to help. From inception to delivery, we can help you plan the perfect rural woodland wedding in Yorkshire to create a day you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
