Planning the Wedding for Elysha & Marcus
Cast your mind right back to a glorious sunny weekend in February – Saturday 23rd 2019 to be precise, when we were blessed with bold sunshine and blue skies. You Said Yes were in Somerset to plan the wedding of Elysha and Marcus.
With a £6000 budget – weddings in this part of the country typically start around £12,000 – staying on budget was going to be top priority.
Mission accepted.
Sticking to a budget and saving money is the best part of being a Wedding Planner. We provide clients with their ultimate day and we do so without breaking the bank, over spending or stressing about the details and logistics.
We saved this client £630 alone on bridesmaids dresses and accessories and shaved money off the catering by reducing numbers for the reception.
Instead of booking separate suppliers for the evening reception we used a company that provided all of the extras we needed under 1 roof which meant we saved over £500 on a combination deal. The clients chose a photo booth, an ice cream cart, a donut wall, a macaroon tower, popcorn and candy floss not to mention a fabulous hog roast reception with all the trimmings !!
The church ceremony took place at Holy Trinity Church Frome. The church volunteer ladies kindly matched the church floral arrangements to the rest of our decorations.
To save extra money we decorated the venue ourselves with pretty bunting borrowed from the venue, Fullingbridge Farm Barn in Westbury, Wiltshire.
We asked the florist to collect the church pew ends to the venue and we re used them.

As table decorations. The venue then provided us with jam jars and log slices, a cake stand and knife and a post box to name but a few extras.
Small things really make a difference so on the Big Day itself, whilst the bride went to the hair dressers to have her hair done, the rest of the bridal party came with freshly washed hair and we did the bridal hair at home, ordering additional flowers from the florist which saved hundreds of pounds itself.

The bride had her make up done and the bridesmaids did each other’s thus saving even more money.
We took a recommended photographer with us – photo credits to Jo at Creative Images. Photographers in Yorkshire cost less than down south it’s that simple. We even travelled to Somerset with a naked cake in the car from one of our favourite Bakers – Lindsey Marie Cake Design – which we dressed with flowers from the florist to save money.
It’s about going that extra mile for a client. Doing little things that make a difference. Being there for your client night and day to solve problems or calm waters. Be there for her, for the family, for the groom – all of them.
With You Said Yes you get the very best of our attention at all times.
