LOUGH HOUSE FARM WEDDINGS
THE LOCATION
Lough House Farm is situated just 12 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne in Stannington, near Morpeth. Located on a fully working Farm, this is a true taste of Northumbrian countryside – a little piece of heaven in such an easy-to-reach location; a field for more usual photo opportunities and a tractor for the not-so-usual. Set in acres of farmland, your drive in will take you past sheep, wheat, trees, and horses!
THE VENUE
Lough House Farm is a stunning, rustic, blank canvas for you to create your perfect barn wedding from 50 to 150 guests. Exposed brick, feature beams, quirky pigsty, bar area and side room; this really is a space for you to fill with your wedding dreams.
Our traditional red-brick barn features wooden doors and 5 beams which can be dressed with greenery, bunting, paper lanterns, or an abundance of fairy lights. You can choose from rustic round or trestle tables for your dining, or a relaxed combination of both. For weddings of up to 80 guests, there is plenty of space to enjoy evening dancing without the need to move dining tables. For larger celebrations, tables can be moved swiftly without your guests having to vacate the space.
Our Side Room has a wall of twinkly fairy lights, sofa, armchairs, and tables for your gifts, guest book, snack area, or tea, coffee, and cake service – perfect for a chill-out space, games zone (beer pong is a favourite!), casino area, or powder room…the possibilities are endless!
Outside, we have cable-reel tables, picnic areas, views across the open fields, and the occasional tractor for photo opportunities! With a large hardcore area and patio, the space is perfect for outdoor games, pizza trucks, barbecues, cocktail bars, fairground rides, naked tipis, or a silent disco under the stars. There is also ample parking.
YOUR CEREMONY
We are licensed to host civil ceremonies by Northumberland Registration Service. We can hold smaller ceremonies of up to 50 guests in the Side Room, larger ceremonies of up to 150 in the Barn, and we offer a variety of outdoor locations that are perfect for your legal marriage ceremony. The spaces can also be used for a celebrant-led celebration. The choice is yours.
A LITTLE BIT MORE
Lough House Farm hosts no more than 12 weddings per year so it really is an exclusive place to have your day – perfect for celebrating somewhere different to your friends! We are open from the start of May until mid-October.
Rather uniquely, the hire of the venue includes 4-day access as standard: 2 relaxed days for setting up, a day for your wedding, and a day to dismantle. This allows plenty of time for set-up, deliveries and collections, and the luxury of being able to ensure the venue is exactly as you want it the day before your wedding.
The services of an experienced wedding planner are included to help with every aspect of your planning. They will be present on your wedding day to provide full coordination and, if you are holding your ceremony at Lough House Farm, you will also be guided through a full marriage rehearsal. We never host more than one wedding per week so you can be sure to have our undivided time and attention.
FOOD AND DRINK
At Lough House Farm, we are keen to ensure you have exactly the day you want, without being tied to certain suppliers or high bar prices. We will help you source the best local, reliable suppliers who perfectly match your requirements. We often have Greggs sausage rolls as canapés – guests in their best outfits with a napkin and sausage roll make for great photos! Burgers, Greek street food, festival food, 3-course dining, barbecues, pie and mash, ice-cream vans, take-away pizzas – we have had them all.
We offer an in-house bar service that allows for your own alcohol to be served, or that can operate as a bar-pay. If you require a full cocktail bar, we can help you source an outside bar company. Again, the choice is yours.
