Congratulations if you got engaged over the Christmas holidays or New Year! It’s such an exciting time, starting to plan your perfect wedding day. There’s so much to think about, including finding your ideal photographer.

This is a big decision to make, as you want to find someone who not only takes beautiful images but who you get on with as well. This is why it’s a good idea to book an engagement photo session, especially if you’re not keen on having your photographs taken.

During the session you’ll get to build up a rapport with the photographer and see how they work. The photographer will learn what kind of poses you like. If you don’t like having photographs taken, then it’s good to practise without the extra pressure of the big day.

Most photographers will be able to produce a signing frame or a signing book from your engagement photos. This is a lovely alternative to a normal guest book. Once the wedding photographs have been done, I swap the engagement photo for a wedding photo so you have a lovely reminder of the wedding day and your guests to display on the wall.

My couples quite often choose a location that means something to them which is a lovely start to their wedding day story.
