In between all the rushing and the chaos, sometimes we forget about ourselves. From sending out invitations to arranging music, flowers, the rings, the documents, the decorations – it’s all a bit much and unless you have a lot of help from a professional, it can be pretty overwhelming. Most brides do pick out a great dress, but when it comes to all the rest, we’re often so busy that we sometimes neglect ourselves. Since you probably don’t want to end up exhausted and frustrated by the time your big day comes, it’s now a great opportunity to relax and pamper yourself a bit. If you want to look stunning and feel great on your wedding day, here are the things you need to do to make it happen.

Clear, fresh face

For the most part, looking good on your wedding day is all about getting enough rest and drinking plenty of water. However, if you have some skin issues such as dryness or acne, you definitely need to start tackling this well before the wedding. Go to a dermatologist and have them prescribe you a treatment, and in the meantime get regular with your nightly rituals. No more going to bed with makeup on, no more skipping moisturizer. It’s also a good idea to visit a skin clinic and get a nice facial done, though we recommend that you don’t do anything drastic to your face or try any new products at least two weeks before the big day. Make sure to have a nice, relaxing beauty day each week where you can just sit back and put a sheet mask on your face as you listen to some music.

Luscious hair

If you want to have a strong mane of glossy hair for the wedding you can start using hot oil treatments once a week. Basically all you need is some organic coconut oil that you can lightly warm up in the microwave (make sure it’s not too hot to use), and apply to the length of your hair and your scalp. Put your hair up and wrap it in foil and put a towel over it, then leave it like that for a least a couple of hours (or overnight, if you can pull it off). When you wash your hair after that it will be lush and beautiful. Keep doing this for a few months and your strands will be transformed.

Bright, pearly whites

There’s nothing like a big, bright smile to make your wedding photos look spectacular, so if you’re eager to grin and show off your happiness, it’s time to think about your teeth. You can get yourself a teeth whitening kit and start using it a few months ahead, and you can also go to the dentist’s office for a deep polish to remove all the coffee, food, and nicotine stains. Another thing to think about is how straight and neat your teeth are, so you might wish to consider braces, or even better, Invisalign. The best part about it is that it’s invisible and that it’s very good at straightening minor misalignments, and as long as you’re very regular about wearing it, you should be seeing improvements very quickly. You need to wear your Invisalign aligners for about 22 hours every day and only take them off to eat and drink, but this means you can also take them out for your wedding day. To make your smile even nicer, you can use sugar scrubs to rid your lips of dry, bumpy skin, and wear Vaseline overnight to make them even softer and suppler.

Long, lean legs

The one thing you can do to make leg maintenance easier is laser hair removal, and that way you won’t have to worry about waxing treatments and razor bumps. Of course, to keep your legs smooth and shapely you should also exercise, and if you’re super busy and stressed, you can easily do some daily home workouts. If your skin is very dry, you can apply coconut oil every night, and we also recommend doing a full-body sugar scrub to make the skin super smooth and velvety.

Pay attention to your décolletage

If you’re ready to show off some skin in a gorgeous wedding gown, you should pay more attention to the appearance of your cleavage. This place is notoriously susceptible to sun spots and wrinkles, so protect it through everyday use of sunscreen. It will keep your skin firm and blemish-free. We also recommend fake tanning instead of sunbathing or tanning salons – they might give your skin a nice colour, but they’ll degrade its quality and won’t help you much in the long run. As long as you take proper application steps, your fake tan can look completely natural and radiant.

And most of all, do some stress-management. Don’t let the chaos eat you up with worry, let yourself relax because that will make your natural beauty shine through.
